under-sink water filtration installation & plumbing reconfiguration — Des moines, wa
Keystone Home Services installed a Brondell under-sink water filtration system with a dedicated drinking-water faucet at a home in Des Moines, WA. The project also included replacing the cold-water angle stop, moving the dishwasher supply from cold water to hot water, and correcting the air-gap drain hose for a cleaner, more functional installation.
The problem
The new under-sink filtration system required a dedicated cold-water connection and filtered-water faucet. The existing plumbing also had the dishwasher connected to the cold-water supply, an angle stop that needed replacement, and an excessively long air-gap drain hose running to the garbage disposal.
Before: Existing under-sink plumbing prior to filtration installation and plumbing reconfiguration.
Diagnosis
Keystone Home Services evaluated the existing hot-and cold-water plumbing and determined the changes needed to properly integrate the new filtration system. The cold-water angle stop was replaced, the dishwasher supply was moved from the cold-water line to the hot-water supply, and the plumbing was configured for the new Brondell filtration system and dedicated faucet. The air-gap hose to the garbage disposal was shortened to improve drainage and reduce standing water in the line.
After: Completed Brondell under-sink water filtration and plumbing installation in Des Moines, WA.
THe result
The Brondell water filtration system and dedicated drinking-water faucet were installed, the cold-water angle stop was replaced, and the dishwasher supply was moved to the hot-water line. The air gap drain hose was shortened and properly routed to the garbage disposal, and the filtration tubing and plumbing connections were secured for a clean finished installation. The system was flushed and checked for proper operation and leaks.
